W. Palm Beach Firemen Adopt One-Ton Baby
The West Palm Beach Firemen's Benevolent Association, Inc., is purchasing "Toppie," a 2,000-pound bouncing baby girl, (four years old), Indian elephant for kids of all ages of this city, for the Dreher Park Zoo. A free city zoo that the firemen have taken as a project for better understanding and co-operation. The zoo is small but growing. If any brother or sister firemen in the state have any extra stamps we will be happy to receive them. We have to have 1,000 books to purchase our baby girl for the children. We have very good newspaper and TV-radio coverage of this project so if we could get some response from other firemen or their ladies over the state we could give it to the newspaper for a story. We are redeeming "Toppie" with trading stamps.
